Brill, Alexander and Dmitry

Alexander and Dmitry Bril were born in 1972 in Moscow, in family of known jazz pianist Igor Bril. Have left musical school of a name of Dunaevsky, then Gnesin's musical school: Alexander - tenor-sax, Dmitry - soprano and alto-sax. In 1991 became students of faculty of jazz music of the Russian Academy of Music of name Gnesin , and further - post-graduate students of this Academy. In 1993 their first ensemble became the owner of Grand prix of the International competition in Bucharest. Since 1990 brothers performed in structure of the family project "Igor Bril and New Generation". Since 1991 the ensemble was one of the most popular and invited jazz bands of Russia, participated in the international jazz festivals (Indonesia, Bulgaria, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, India, Canada). On the first trip on the International Festival to Jakarta in 1991 musicians performed on one stage with known American jazz musicians: Ernie Watts, Lee Ritenour, Arturo Sandoval, Candy Dulfer, Erl Klugh. In 1998 played at jazz festival in Montreal where in parallel performed John Scofield, Joe Lovano, Wayne Shorter, Sesil Taylor, Charlie Hunter. In 1999 Bril brothers have created own ensemble in which their friends and adherents have come. In 2004 this structure, at Roman Miroshnichenko's active creative participation, has won Grand prix of the international competition-festival " DoDж 2004 ". The first CD of musicians " Bril Brothers. IMMERSION ", released in 2000 by the "Landy Star"company. Also brothers have parallel joint project "Improvisations on a theme" with well-known actor and director Alexander Filippenko. In 2008 the joint album by Roman Miroshnichenko and Bril brothers has been released at the Melodia label! CD "Together" includes 9 tracks with special guests: Vladimir Presnyakov (sr), Sergey Mazaev, Igor Butman, Igor Bril, Saskia Laroo (Netherlands), Jan Heinke (Germany).
